The City of Ashville Street Department iscurrently accepting applications for the position of Street Superintendent.  Thepurpose of this position is to manage, organize, and direct the programs andactivities of the street and shop department, as well as, secure compliancewith building, housing, zoning, plumbing and mechanical regulations coveringbuilding and housing location, construction, alteration or repair.  This entails direct supervision of assignedpersonnel for street repair and upkeep of city streets and drainage system, aswell as, maintenance activities in the shop. Employees in this role inspectbuildings and housing for compliance with regulations for structural safety, firesafety, zoning, plumbing, mechanical and related requirements Superintendentwill ensure communication with city residents on a problem solving basis asneeded.
