NOTICEOF ELECTION OF MUNICIPAL OFFICERS
Notice is hereby given that onTuesday, August 23, 2016, an election for the purpose of electing a mayor and thecity council members for Places 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5, and such other officers aspursuant to duly enacted law or ordinance, or any or all of such officers, areto be elected at such election for the City of Ashville, Alabama, will be held,and that all registered and qualified electors of the State, who reside withinthe corporate limits of Ashville, Alabama, and who have resided therein for thirty(30) days or more immediately preceding the date of such election, who arequalified to vote in the County precinct which embraces and covers that part ofthe corporate limits of said city in which the elector resides, will beauthorized to participate in said election.
The polls will be open at the AshvilleMunicipal Building located at 211 8th Street, Ashville, Alabama, andthe hours will be 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. on August 23, 2016.
If necessary, a run-off electionwill be held on October 4, 2016.
Any qualified elector of thisState who will be unable to vote at his or her regular polling place because ofan absence from the County of his or her residence on the day of any municipalelection may obtain an absentee ballot at the Ashville Municipal Building, 2118th Street, Ashville, Alabama, during regular office hours: Monday –Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm closing 12pm – 1pm for lunch.
Qualifyingbegins Tuesday, July 5, 2016, at 8:00 a.m. and will close on Tuesday, July 19,2016, at 5:00 p.m.
